WHAT IS DEMOCRACY?

Democracy is a state of mind which focuses on the rights and wrongs of a situation occasioning concerns in the ordinary course of government to people relationships.

Democracy has undergone all manners of transformations since its creation by the Greeks in the famous agora in Athens in ancient times. It is no longer a system of government but a statement of rules and regulations to regulate relationships between government, state-sponsored institutions and the inhabitants of nation state.

Each and every component of “Democracy” is susceptible to challenge or dissent and there is no guarantee that solutions or remedies found or arrived at following a dissent will always meet the criteria of acceptance by all the parties.

The only good thing about Democracy is the fact that “Sovereignty of a Nation State no longer resides in the government of any such country but in the people”.
